The now globally recognised mistreatment and unfortunate attempts to dehumanise Black People represents a toxic economic divide that still exists in our world societies. In fact, globally, there are systematic injustices which disproportionately oppress Black People socially, professionally and financially. Bleeding cannot stop until there is racial justice for Persons of African Descent around the world and All Lives cannot Matter until Black Lives really Matter. Furthermore, we condemn in the strongest terms any xenophobic attacks.
We call for equal rights and justice for every human being. Let us, therefore, continue to advocate and know that Black People have made and continue to make social, financial, professional and spiritual contributions to the development as well as betterment of the world. The world cannot exist without Black People, and rightfully so. Africa is and remains the cradle of our human civilisation, aptly in a spirit of Ubuntu: I am because We are.
The STB Consortium, being an ever-focused Pan-African platform working to contribute to the furtherance of the causes of social justice including that of civil liberties, labour rights and gender justice, joins the call for justice for George Floyd among others, joins the call for Pan-Africanism, joins the call for racial justice and institutional reforms necessary to ensure functional race relations and the protection of Black People.
