The purpose of the workshop was to:
- Provide training and resources for undertaking research and delivering research methodologies courses at home institutions; and
- Provide an opportunity to refine and develop potential grant proposals.
During the workshop, participants reviewed the fundamentals of research design, alternative research methodologies and strategies for writing research grant proposals. The sessions were highly interactive, and participants discussed concepts related to their own research experiences and analyzed published articles. See the workshop agenda (download attachments below) for more information.
Evaluations completed by the participants show that the workshop was well received and that they were able to increase their knowledge. Moreover, whether in the classroom or more informally around the dinner table, this workshop was a place for diverse and intense debate and discussion. In this atmosphere of respect and exchange, the participants had the opportunity to build relationships and networks with their peers.
