2006–2007 ICBE Research Fund Grants Competition

The 2006–2007 call for proposals for the first round of the ICBE Research Fund was issued on June 12, 2006, and closed on October 16, 2006.

2006–2007 ICBE grant applicants competed for total grant awards of up to $700,000 which represents 20 small grant awards of up to $10,000 each and 10 intermediate grant awards of up to $50,000 each.

The 2006–2007 call attracted 236 proposals from 30 different countries. The proposals focused on such issues as regulation and reform in procurement; investment and corporate governance; supply chains and the informal sector; public and private sector partnerships; capital markets and foreign direct investments; energy and poverty in rural areas; and the creation and growth of youth and women enterprises.

Following a rigorous selection process involving peer reviewers and a pan-African jury, the ICBE Research Fund awarded a total of US$698,700 to 29 teams of researchers in 15 African countries for the first round. Click here to learn more about the selection process.
