2007–2008 ICBE Research Fund Grants Competition

The 2007–2008 call for proposals for the second round of the ICBE Research Fund was issued on August 1, 2007, and closed on October 31, 2007.

2007–2008 ICBE grant applicants are competing for total grant awards of up to $1.2 million, which represents 20 small grant awards of up to $10,000 each, 10 intermediate grant awards of up to $50,000 each, and 5 large grants of up to $100,000 each. The large grants category is a new addition from last year’s competition and targets cross-border initiatives and regional economies.

The 2007–2008 call attracted 70 proposals from 16 different countries. The proposals focused on finance, public services (such as education and infrastructure), agriculture, trade, energy, and telecommunications. Some proposals also addressed cross-sector domains including governance, entrepreneurship, law reform, and alternative dispute resolution. The adjudication and recommendation for grant awards is scheduled for the end of February 2008. Click here to learn more about the selection process.
