TrustAfrica works with partner organizations in all five subregions of Africa and the diaspora. However, we do not fund local or national initiatives, with the exception of a few very small grants for capacity building. Instead, we focus on regional partnerships that promote cooperation across borders and advance regional solutions.

With a grant from TrustAfrica, one of our partners in the region convened and facilitated a peace agreement in Guinea-Bissau, helping to bring warring parties to the table to begin to iron out their differences. Another of our partners led a coalition of organizations that swayed West African governments to renew a moratorium on small arms and light weapons. We are also supporting an initiative to convene civil society groups around issues of trade and investment, ensuring that their views are heard at the highest level.
