This page provides an overview of some of the key discussions, issues and actions that emerged from the September 13-14 dialogue on “Good Governance for Sustainable Quality University Education in Tanzania.” Organized by TrustAfrica and the Committtee of Vice Chancellors and Principals Tanzania, the two-day meeting brought together educators, administrators, government officals, student representatives and the media to share experiences and best practices of good governance in higher education. Highlights of the conference included a keynote address by the Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Dr. Shukuru Kawambwa. The meeting also served as a forum for discussing the preliminary findings of the scoping study commissioned by TrustAfrica on higher education in Tanzania. The study was conducted by Professor Daniel Mkunde (pictured below).
